Plumbing Company — Emergency Google Ads for Booked Service Calls
PlumbingTampa, FL
Google Ads · Landing pages · Call tracking · GBP · Conversion tracking
Intent-split campaigns, dedicated emergency landing pages, and call tracking grew booked plumbing jobs while cost per booked job fell.

Summary
Rapid Flow Plumbing is a licensed plumbing company serving residential accounts across the Tampa metro. Before FuelLabs, paid search mixed emergency, drain cleaning, and water heater searches into one campaign — sending homeowners to a generic homepage and reporting success on form fills instead of booked plumbing jobs. We rebuilt Google Ads around search intent, launched dedicated landing paths for each service line, and tied optimization to dispatcher-confirmed appointments.
Problem
- Google Ads traffic mixed burst-pipe emergencies, drain cleaning, and water heater replacement into a single campaign structure.
- High-intent homeowners landed on a generic plumbing page with weak click-to-call placement and no service-specific proof.
- Reporting tracked form submissions instead of booked plumbing jobs, so budget decisions ignored dispatcher outcomes.
Approach
We separated campaigns by plumbing search intent, built landing pages that matched each job type, and redefined success around booked service calls confirmed in the CRM.
Solution
Campaign structure was rebuilt into five intent clusters: Emergency Plumber, Drain Cleaning, Leak Repair, Water Heater Replacement, and Sewer Line Repair. Each cluster received dedicated RSAs, tighter keyword groups, and its own landing page with click-to-call prominence and a single primary conversion action. Dynamic call tracking numbers were assigned by campaign. Offline conversion import from the CRM fed booked-job data back into Google Ads so Smart Bidding optimized toward dispatched plumbing work — not vanity leads.
- Split campaigns by emergency vs. install intent with separate budgets for after-hours plumbing
- Launched dedicated landing pages for emergency plumber, drain cleaning, and water heater replacement
- Deployed call tracking numbers by campaign and landing page variant
- Shifted conversion tracking from form fills to booked plumbing jobs via CRM import
- Aligned Google Business Profile categories and photos with paid messaging for map pack reinforcement
- Added negative keywords to reduce low-intent drain-snake and DIY traffic waste
Results
Booked plumbing jobs rose from 68 to 121 while cost per booked job dropped from $94 to $58. Emergency campaigns generated more same-day plumbing phone calls. Phone call conversion improved from 14.2% to 23.7% as traffic reached intent-matched pages.
Intent-based structure turned the same ad budget into more dispatch-ready plumbing jobs. The lesson: for plumbing companies, separating emergency campaigns and optimizing for booked jobs — not form fills — is how you lower cost per booked job sustainably.
